This section is organized mainly for Czech and Slovak people who are not familiar with IBM Connections and therefore want to learn more about social business and IBM Connections. The plan is to run this session in the morning in one of the breakout rooms before the main keyonote. The aim is to help people get familiar with the #socbiz vision and with the IBM product so they can enjoy the conference. 

We will cover two topics:

IBM Connections "Next" is here! This new release of IBM Connections brings new capabilities such as the ability to bring customers and partners into the conversation, work with your files offline, amazing new mobile capabilities, and more. CEMEX started a journey to innovate through the use of social networks in 2009.  Being one of the early-adopters of IBM Connections, its journey has yielded great results.

However, the market conditions for the construction market have changed, and CEMEX needs to prepare itself for a scalable operating model to sustain the collaboration culture that it was introduced a few years ago. 

A new global networks model has then been created, in which key representatives of the network are embedded into the organization. This facilitates the development of new policies: the “playbooks” to be replicated in our daily operations. 

Never before were the networks so empowered as today, and this shows in our new model. Through the deployment of our very own CEMEXpedia, we intend to capture the knowledge spread throughout our organization and facilitate its replication.

Let us share with you our learnings and how we envision a truly interconnected, global network.

With the announcement of IBM Mail Next, IBM has a wide selection of social mail clients, including IBM Notes and the mail interface in IBM Connections. Each are serving their own purpose and this session will take you through the various use cases and which option you should consider in order to accelerate your social business journey by moving adoption of social capabilities to your collaboration client. Social Business - IBM Success Story

This session will focus on the the major milestones and journey of IBM as a "Social Business. We will present a combination of "Day in the Life" examples followed by an overview of the major milestones achieved by IBM. This session will focus on the process, culture, and IT programs designed to successfully deploy an "Social Business." 

This session is all about WIM (WebSphere Identity Manager) the part within WebSphere which handles everything about security. IBM Connections needs to be hooked into this functionality so that users when they authenticate with the platform will be automatically coupled with their user info as it is available within the Profiles application and all other user information available in the individual applications which makes the IBM Connections platform. We will also handle SPNEGO and how it interacts with WIM and IBM Connections. IBM Connections also have some additional applications which are now embedded into the platform like FileNet (which is called Connections Content Manager) / Cognos / FEB (Forms Experience Builder). These applications needs also interactions with WIM and IBM Connections. I will handle how everything is tight together.

Competence Centre for Collaboration Solutions at the University of Economic in Prague serves as an expert centre for enterprise social networks and works closely with IBM and local business partners to help drive adoption of social business in Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In this session they will share their experience from local social business projects over the past years and discuss various examples and adoption scenarios from different fields and industries (public, education, healthcare, even construction).

IBM Connections is a product, a platform with a comprehensive SDK and becomes a brand for most IBM collaborative products. IBM Connections can house custom widgets for legacy applications (including Notes). Furthermore IBM Connections is an eco-system with more and more solutions that run on IBM Connections or are integrated with IBM Connections. The session gives an overview of the speakers choice of the best enhancements and companion products to IBM Connections.

The benefits of IBM Connections is more than establishing a set of Social Business tools to improve communication and collaboration. IBM Domino can be used not only as LDAP server for authentication to IBM Connections, but also as a platform for simple user enrolment and self-service applications in XPages (password change, forgotten password, users registration queue etc). We will present the solution developed for a real customer running B2B portal on Connections 4.5, showing benefits of Connections - Domino coexistence.

Spring 2014, TINE launches a new, social intranet for all their employees, with IBM Connections as one of the core components.

With relational databases, LDAP servers, files shares and a lot of Java components, IBM Connections is a complex environment to install and operate. A diverse set of settings and tools is needed in case something does not work as expected.

In this talk we will present you the debugging settings for Connections that will offer additional information quick, in case something goes wrong. Also, we will give you recommendations for tools your customer should provide you on the server so you can work out any issues efficiently. And last but not least we will also present you with our best practices.

So you have spent time evaluating a Social platform for your organisation, the final phase is to get business sign off to proceed. In order to get sign off, you are asked to show what ROI your company will achieve from implementing a Social platform... This session will give you some real life examples that have been used to help get final sign off for proposals. Once over the line, this seesion will also be of value to organisations who have adopted IBM Connections and want to hear about some innovative use cases they could utilise in their environment. Based on the highly sucessful 'Social patterns / Use cases', Business Value Assessment models used by IBM and the 'Social Software adoption wheel', you will be provided with some real life examples of why ROI is important BUT why the real benefit from your Connections implementation will be to helping drive cultural change within the organisation and implementing ROB (Reworking of Behaviour!).

Underneath the covers of IBM Connections lies a wealth of opportunities waiting to be exploited. To take full advantage of these opportunities you must understand and harness the API's available to you as a developer. Most know of the REST API's by now but there is so much more most notably the Events API which lets you hook into the innards of IBM Connections to build powerful workflows. Come to this session to learn about building on the PLATFORM that is IBM Connections and see just how many options you have. Bring your favorite IDE and lets write some code.

XPages has been tightly integrated with the IBM Social SDK to extend its reach beyond IBM Domino and into other social platforms like IBM Connections and IBM SmartCloud for Social Business (SC4SB).  This session will demonstrate how to create XPages applications that flexibly leverage all the main modules and services of IBM Connections, like communities, profiles, activity stream, files and so forth. This will be done using the latest open source sample projects like the Trouble Ticket and SBT Playground that are available to everyone through OpenNTF. So be uber Social and come along to see how to create a Social XPages application!

You don’t have to be a large company to take advantage of social business. Adoption doesn't depend on the size of a company, instead, it depends on the size of the actual community. A SMB company can work with a very large community – like customers community, and vice versa, a big company can have small teams or small communities of experts.

In this session, we will focus on social business adoptions in SMB and corresponding implementation strategies for IBM Connections.

Many companies decide to use their Internet Web Content Management System for their Intranet too. Web Content Management Systems are excellent in top-down communication. IBM Connections is excellent in peer-to-peer collaboration. Using separate platforms for communication and collaboration causes confusion and confronts users and authors with difficult choices: where to publish and where to search content. Governance problems, fragmentation, user frustration and lost potential are the consequences.

Get your house in order by stripping out unnecessary baggage. Use TDI and Domino Agents to build a better picture of the condition of your environment and give you the information you need to make the migration as smooth as possible. I will live demo how the IBM's tools migrate docs and files to a CCM Community Library. 

The Eastern German Savings Bank Association (OSV) represents the political and economical interests of 45 savings banks. With the vision of becoming the best consulting partners for the members the OSV started a social business pilot project in 2012 with IBM Connections. The goal: Less e-mail, faster collaboration, non-hierachical communication, better management of internal knowledge. But with introducing new technology the organization and its culture changed. In this session we will talk about the key learnings from the "OSV-CONNECT" project with a special focus on the change management process. This session is mainly non-technical.

Learn how to develop, package and distribute extensions for Connections. The session will show the attendee how to modify the default UX by producing distributable Javascript extension bundles, and packaged themes, as well as how to perform post deployment customization.

Let's sit down and throw ideas together and discuss what would make a great release for IBM Connections Next +1. Bring your ideas, concepts, draft designs and help the IBM Connections Product Manager take home some food for thought.

The activity stream is the way events and messages are communicated in a social business! IBM Connections activity stream gives you a great way to work and even act on notifications. 

But what about all your existing Applications out there? 

Why shouldn't you leverage the concept and the power of the activity stream here as well? 

Yeah - you should!

In this session I'll show you how you can use IBM's Tivoli Directory Integrator to publish notifications to the activity stream from almost any type of Application.

Connections and especially Connections Profiles are very customizable. We will show you, based on the work we did for a customer, why, what and how you can customize the TDI assembly lines and the Connections Profiles user interface to provide your customers with a profiles experience adapted to their expectations (including leading and trailing titles, customized hierarchy trees, additional fields, imported rich text, etc.).

We love Activities in Connections. They are awesome! Working together on projects and leveraging Social Tools is a very powerful way of working.
